Tips on How to Feel Less Frumpy

This is about the time of the year that the frumpiness starts going around because we are detoxing from the holidays, right? And we’ve got all of these amazing goals that we want to hit, especially with this number 2020. Such a huge number. It honestly is, I think, a great number to do the best that we can do and to fulfill all of our goals, but it takes a toll sometimes.

Many times when you feel frumpy it’s for a few different reasons. If you catch yourself constantly going after the same clothes in your wardrobe, and feeling frumpy, there’s a sign that you have to make a change.

  • Think about what you’re grabbing in your closet and make a change

Many times when you feel frumpy it’s for a few different reasons. If you catch yourself constantly going after the same clothes in your wardrobe, and feeling frumpy, there’s a sign that you have to make a change.

Think about what you go and you grab in your closet. Often. If it’s something that does not make you feel good and you feel frumpy, you got to start going after it. And more than that, you need to get rid of it. Okay? It could even have a stain on it. And maybe you just keep grabbing it because you’re comfortable with it. It’s quick, you don’t have to think about it.

Gotta make a change, take some action and take initiative, and take a little extra time for yourself. It is okay, you deserve it. Because our clothing actually is an expression of how we feel on the inside. So if you’re feeling frumpy, you’re most likely looking it. Then when you’re having communication with others, they see that and especially if you’re in business and you have first impressions to create the last thing you want to create as a frumpy first impression.

  • Get Inspired

Take a little bit of time and take notice of styles on other people. It can be celebrities or it can be friends on Pinterest online, and take note of styles that make you smile. If you see a friend wearing something, take note as to why he or she liked that style.

You could even have like a little style journal. I know it might sound kind of silly, but if you journal or use just a sheet of paper, or maybe even in your phone in your notes, you can open it up and write down things that make you feel happy when you see that on somebody. That way next time you go shopping, you have more of an idea of exactly what you’re looking for instead of just shopping without intention, and then buying something that’s going to stay in your closet and not be worn. That then creates clutter and decision fatigue and that’s the last thing that you want to do. So get inspired.

  • Buy yourself some really hot lingerie

Even if you’re single, it’s okay to do it anyway, it doesn’t matter. Go out and buy one or two things or even more if you want to that makes you feel sexy and wear them at home at night just walking around in the house.

You need to love your body how it is today, not how you want it to be in the future because today also matters. Loving on yourself today and embracing your body how it is today is definitely going to help you get out of that frog. I promise you.

  • Do something that you’ve never done before

This is going to make you feel like a total badass. So you could maybe do a 5K, even if maybe you’re not really a runner. Push yourself to do a 5K. A lot of these you can even walk, get out of your comfort zone. Instead of being maybe that passive person, get out of your comfort zone and do something that you’ve never done.

  • Give yourself permission to love yourself unconditionally

We are so hard on ourselves, and all of you know, I can definitely attest to this A lot of it has to do with decisions that we make in our lives…maybe stresses that are going on in our life. And it’s okay to love yourself and let yourself feel pretty, because how you love yourself is also expressed on the outside.

I hope that this is helpful to get you out of that frumpy state of mind. And if you love more style tips like this in more depth, you can get that in my freestyle group.
