Know How to Absolutely Love and Conquer Your Style Personality

I often hear friends and clients say, “I have no style.”  But YOU do! We all do! What we may not have (yet) is our style defined so that we are able to curate a wardrobe that works with our style and allows us to get dressed effortlessly.  Identifying your Style Personality is key in knowing your style.

"Style is a Reflection of your personality and attitude."

Your style has been developing throughout your life and is constantly evolving just as you are as a person.  Being clear as to how you want to represent yourself will depend on your own individual lifestyle and personality.  Sounds very black and white, right? It’s not and that’s why we often say, “I have no style.”

For most of us, especially us women, it gets even a little more challenging to determine what our style is because we wear multiple hats in life and business, have various hobbies and passions and are into different activities.  Then, when we get into our closet it may feel a bit chaotic giving us “decision fatigue” as if we don’t have any style because we identify with so many personas. This is OK! You don’t want to be stuck with one type of look and be one kind of woman.  The idea is to have a main theme to your your wardrobe that represents your personal style as a whole.

So how do you go about it without losing yourself but loving your wardrobe?  There are common style personalities that will help you relate and identify with to better pinpoint a theme to your style.  First, think about descriptive words that summarize how you want to represent yourself as well as words that describe your personality.

Which of these styles do you identify the most with:

A:  Casual, Comfortable, Approachable, Easy-Going

B:  Timeless, Professional, Refined, Polished, Sophisticated, Dependable

C:  Eclectic, Spirited, Unconventional, Whimsical, Unique, Carefree

D:  Bold, Striking, Strong, Confident, Attention Grabbing, Self-Assured, Edgy

E:  Gentle, Soft, Pretty, Sensitive, Girly, Thoughtful

F:  Magnetic, Emotive, Figure Hugging, Attractive, Flaunting

G: Trendy, Tonal Basics with Bold Accessories, Contemporary, Connected

Now, based on the letter above that you identify best with, check out the descriptions below to each that should correspond with the letters above:

A: I’m active and on-the-go.  I go from shopping to kid’s sports practices.  Comfortable, soft clothing and my sneakers take me all day.

B: I prefer clean lines, no frills.  Instead of bright colors, I gravitate towards neutrals like white, black, gray and beige.

C: I’m spontaneous and original just like my clothing. My outfits are creative and don’t follow any fashion rules but they come together and work.

D: I like to stand out and wear bright colors and prints and I don’t mind being the center of attention.

E:  I’m a hopeless romantic that loves dresses, skirts, florals, ruffles, lace, hearts and pastels.

F:  I like to make an entrance and the attention.  I use clothing to highlight my body.

G:  I love trying out a new trend that compliments my existing wardrobe.  My friends come to me for fashion advice and they say I always look like I just stepped off the runway.

Do you feel like some of these overlap?  That’s totally OK! Most of us will mix it up a bit because of our daily life routine, job and activities.  The point is to have a better idea of what it is you feel confident in and want to represent so that you always stay within your own style personality no matter the occasion.

In friendship & sparkle,
